Labels:text | screenshot | font | black and white OCR: Ratrace Help Ratrace is a very simple game that allows you to bet on one of four rats that will race each other around your screen. Results are unpredictable, but can be influenced if you're willing to take a chance and cheat! The object of the game is to beat the score in the lower right hand corner of the track screen. Your score is determined by the amount of money you win. After a player wins the game it will automatically reset everything, including the scores for each player. The winning player will have his/her name displayed every time the game is started. This will continue until there is a new winner . Each day you will be given an allotment of races and money. If you use all your money or all your races you will not be able to play until the next day. The sysop determines how much of each you will be given each day. In each race the odds of winning for each rat are set randomly, so you should consult the [O]dds function to see which rat has the best chance of winning. Of course the rat most likely to win will pay the least, so the choice is up to you . If you want to cheat by paying off Sleazo, the track hood noted for his ability to "fix" a race, you do it at your own risk! Track security is corrupt and lazy, so they might catch you or they might not. If they do you will have to forfeit up to HALF your winnings to keep from going to jail! Sleazo won't work for free! Depending on the amount of damage you want him to do to the other rats you can pay various amounts for the service, depending on how much is in your pocket. Sleazo knows when you're loaded and the prices go up or down accordingly. There's no guarantee that you will win, even after Sleazo puts in the "fix", but your chances definitely go up! Here's a tip: Make sure you have already picked your rat BEFORE you send Sleazo off to do his dirty work. Otherwise you might handicap yourself. If of you have some winnings (dollars, that is) you can bet them if you run out cash. Do this by using the [Ulse winnings option. Be aware that you are dropping your score if you lose! All of your winnings are put in this pool; they will not show up as money left. You can select a rat to bet on from either the track screen or the odds screen. It's highly recommended that you consult the odds before starting the race . You can change the number of laps for the race, change your bet, or change your rat in any order prior to the start of the race. However, if you decide to cheat, it cannot be undone. Once again, make sure you have picked your rat BEFORE you get Sleazo involved! If your sysop has configured the door for time betting you will not be able to cheat while betting time. In addition the odds are all the same when wagering time, so you will have a 1-in-4 chance of coming up a winner. Some systems cannot be configured to use the time-betting feature, so please don't bug your sysop about setting this option! Happy racing .
